Microhabitat Program Incubator
Grant Opportunities
Funding for “More Programs, Better Practices”
At Village and Wilderness, we are committed to advancing the microhabitat movement through the Microhabitat Program Incubator’s grants. Guided by our vision of “More Programs, Better Practices,” the grants aim to expand the number and quality of microhabitat programs through seed funding and fostering innovation.
We currently offer two targeted grant opportunities:
1. Incubator Grants: Investing in New Microhabitat Programs
Incubator Grants provide essential seed funding to launch new microhabitat programs. This initiative promotes the development of rigorous and impactful programs, particularly for the communities, species, and climate-vulnerable landscapes that need them most. A cornerstone of this effort is our Microhabitat Program Manual, a comprehensive guide for aspiring program leaders.
- 2025 Incubator Grant Pilot: Currently open to community-based nonprofit organizations or public agencies, including those in development. (Existing microhabitat programs are not eligible.) Learn more.
2. Catalyst Grants: Investing in Better Microhabitat Practices
Catalyst Grants empowers established microhabitat programs to invent, test, and share better practices, strengthening the overall movement. Available exclusively to programs within our Practitioners Circle, this grant opportunity opens annually. Discover more about Catalyst Grants and the work of the 2024 grantees.
- 2025 Catalyst Grant Round: Practitioners Circle members will be notified when the 2025 round begins.
